Accepted as an MA researcher in Tokyo Gakugei University, studying Japanese calligraphy pedagogy and classics, as well as the continuing practice of writing (Shosha).
Began research for a Master thesis: comparative essay on Western modern art and Japanese traditional calligraphy and aesthetics (until the contemporary era).

- Calligraphy exhibition in collaboration with Butoh dancer Emi Ishikawa, and American musician David G. Hebert, Shinjuku, Tokyo :
Exhibition of a 6x4 meter calligraphy work, in a long and dark venue at the highest floor (12F) of the Yotsuya-Kumin-Center building in Shinjuku.
Realised in collaboration with butoh dancer Emi Ishikawa and American trumpet David G. Hebert, it was a multi-media trio performance.
At the top floor of the building with large windows displaying a beautiful overview of the nocturnal city: the calligraphy from this dark room, illuminated by Masato Ohno's video work, enlighted smoothly.
The performance lasted for an hour.
- Co-produced and co-directed an inovative opera named "Correspondence", Musashi-Koganei, Tokyo :
This opera seeks to join the silence of writings and the sound of music together, and its theme is illustrated by the following points:
- Does the sound of a foreign language not become musical before its words overcome their misunderstood meaning?
- Is music not a form of metalanguage that overcomes language itself: If it is not translated, it must be universal.
- Does translation not find it's echo in the artist's work : to translate its inspiration.
- Before an audience of diverse languages and cultures, how may an artist use writings without negotiating the divisions that -- unlike music -- they will generate?
- Is Chinese and Japanese script not at the same time both drawings and words: he who cannot read them, may still contemplate them.

- Four seasons of poetry on mount Takao, Japan :
In Japanese poetry, the first part of a "tanka" (Z), the "hokku" () evokes nature and the seasons; whereas the second part describes emotions and feelings.
The "hokku" will slowly become a poem on his own, the "haïku", that is still evoking nature and seasons, but avoid speaking of feelings.
The "haïku" is composed of three verses for 17 syllabes, and must include only one "word of season".
It's very short form is supposed to catch a moment from a point of view.
All "word of season" (kigo - G) are archived in special dictionaries called "Saijiki" (ΎL).
It is a much a work of situation and installation than it is a poetic essay. It can be located in between the touristic picture and the artistic archive of a silent happening or momentum.

This digital-html poem has been published in web art literary journal _sidereality.com_ : a journal of speculative and experimental poetry.

- Installation towards the St-Victoire Mountain, Provence, France :
On the early morning, I started a walk towards the St-Victoire Mountain, without reaching it, while thinking on Jeff Wall's book "Into the forest, Two sketches for Studies of Rodney Graham's Work". (Yves Gevaert Editor, Brussels - 1996 / Émile Van Balberghe Bookshop)
On the track, I displaced rocks I found on my way, and placed them in the same position but beside the hole that had been formed by their dislodgement.
- Convivio - Artist in residence of two weeks for an Interaction Design workshop, Rome, Italy :
Convivio is a network for People-Centered Design of Interactive Systems.
Workshop made in collaboration with KTH (Royal Institute of Technology) - Stockholm, Sweden, University of Milano - Bicocca, Consorzio Roma Ricerche, Telecomitalia Learning Services, and the Istituto Europeo di Design - Roma, Italy.
Concept : "The Convivio network builds on earlier actions within the EU FET Program to provide an infrastructure to the fledgling i3 community -namely, i3net. This European Network for intelligent information interfaces was launched in 1996 with the goal of advancing the development of novel human-centered systems and interfaces for interacting with information, aimed at people in their everyday activities. The community culture, on which the vision of Convivio is rooted, is founded on radical innovation based on the union of design, technology and people".

This word which comes from Latin solen, alive shell in the sea half inserted in sand (knife), evokes loneliness;
it is employed here like metaphor of incommunicability but also of the potential possibility to create a connection.

- Performance with Kinya Tsuruyama, initiating "Cercle Carré", at French art dealer Mathieu Ticolat's private suite, Tokyo, Japan :
Performance with Butoh dancer Kinya Tsuruyama and two musicians at French art dealer Mathieu Ticolat's private apartment in Jingumae, Tokyo.
This performance initiate a series of installations and performances using Mr. Ticolat's balcony as an exhibit space, under the name of "Cercle Carré".
The word "Cercle" refers to the French 19th century "salon" tradition, while "Carré" describes more specifically the shape of the venue.
Cercle Carré, as Cabaret Voltaire by Hugo Ball in Zurich in 1916 or San Francisco's Six Gallery in 1955, where Allen Ginsberg first read "Howl", attempt to create a new type of exchange in Tokyo art scene.

- Biennale of Okinawa: architectural piece in the old Noren market for Wanakio community development project, Okinawa, Japan :
"Cubicle" - Urban Intervention in the Noren vegetable market in central Naha, ancient capital of the Ryukyu Kingdom.
The work consisted in rebuilding to the identical the most dilapidated and deserted room of the market with aluminum and plastic. The reason for using these materials is that they have to be inedible to termites, resistant to rot and waterproof.
The attempt is to revive the interest of the community for a place it deserted, while proposing an alcove favorable for spiritual rumination in this community of ascetic workers.
The status of the former space, it's eviction from the public space is therefore remodeled instead of being denied, from a nook that the community wanted to avoid building a cloister where one can retreat.
The Japanese name for this piece is "iori", kanji which means a place or a zen shrine where one can meditate, study or devote itself to spiritual dedications such as the tea ceremony.
The key of the place has been entrusted to Miss Kin-cho, head of the group of grand-mothers that run this part of the market, and will therefore be open from two o'clock in the morning, accordingly to the market daily timetable.
Collaboration with the ikebana (floral art) Japanese master Keiko Ishibashi during the biennale' opening; On that occasion, she proposed a tea ceremony to locals as well.
